Wednesday

Wait.

Hello. I am back. And its going to be 2010. I'm ambivalent at most about it. I will not welcome it graciously with open arms neither would I try hard to evade it. Somehow the four numbers scare me. I don't know what to expect. I hate being uncertain. I hate being made a fool by 'what ifs'.
Sighs. I feel like hugging my new bags from Singapore and just cry. What am I going to do for 2010?
Well. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Knock. Knock.
Lord...I'm waiting.

Friday

Joy To The World.

Excuse me for the sad lack of updates. In my defense, I have been busy. A handful of friends are back for their holidays. Yip yip :) I have been to Damai twice, lost my uncle, got my results back, ate ate ate and nothing but, bringing Van around Kuching, and so much more. I will be heading to Singapore tomorrow. I am still a tad bit apprehensive on whether I should just splurge and go have high tea at the Raffles Hotel. It is EXPENSIVE. That's expected. Should I?Or shouldn't I?I will update S.O.O.N. Hahaha I've got tons and tons of pictures. Just to state the obvious, today's Christmas. Though I have never been an avid enthusiast of this particular holiday, I would just like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas :)
You happy? :p

Tuesday

Eiffle Dreams.

I woke up today dreaming of Paris. Of sunflowers in Arles. Of croissants and eclairs. The Lourve and the Luxembourg garden. Sitting down at the Cafe de la Paix, watching the whole of Paris go by in all its resplendent grandeur. Looking at the grandiose display of Diors and Chanels. Ambling down Champs Elysees, intoxicated by all that Paris has to offer. Indeed a feast for all senses.

I woke up with a vivid anamnesis of Mona Lisa sitting next to my bed. She turned, gave me that familiar smile of hers and said "Fais de beaux rĂªves."

Sunday

Why Does It.

Why does it feel like I'm suffocating at times? That I can't breathe and I have to constantly grapple for that diminutive lacuna just to be myself, which has become even more tenuous over time. Why can't I just embrace every nonpareil element that embodies me? Just the way I am. Unabridged. Completely. Why can't I pursue the avidities and aspirations of my heart?Sometimes, I do miss how it feels like to be unconfined by the coverted dictums of what we know as amour.

This is just another ephemera of discontent. I do realize that I can be rather self-centered and adamant in my own ways every now and then. But I am fully aware of my adherence. I bear no sense of remorse. I know my place and where my heart should be.

Just sometimes.
I wish you'd let me.

Friday

Girl Power.

Sometimes I like being a girl :)

Thursday

What I Like.

But I like it.

Monday

Clockwork.

Everything succumbs to time. The irrefutable vulnerability of life itself is in the hands of time. But time is implacable, and the fact that life is unfair betokens how brief life simply is.
Tick Tock goes the Clock.
To try to comprehend time would be anyone's grave mistake. Don't go against time. That will be ludicrous because you'll be walking a tightrope between the barriers of life and death. Comply with time. And appreciate every single moment. Every single breath. A lesson humans have failed to discern, we will never stop taking things for granted. We may realise this today but we'll be the same again tomorrow. Humans are susceptible to mortality.
Time, however, is immortal.

Saturday

Fairy Tale.

I still believe in fairy tales.

Rain.

Rain rain. Don't go away.

Thursday

I'm saving for my next lomo. I want an action sampler :) :) :)
Credits to Van!I L Y!

Monday

Buys.

These are sooooo comfortable. From Cotton On. Reasonably priced too and comes in pink, yellow, white, silver, gold , black and bronze. I went back and got myself a second pair:)

Was just randomly trying on rings when I came across this for RM19 :)

I love this. I love this. I so love this. I went back to Forever 21 the week after and got the same one in gold. Haha. RM25.
I needed a new purse so badly. I know Coach, Prada and the likes are way out of my range. I told myself after loosing TWO purses ( A Guess one and a Roxy ) in a year, I will allow myself to splurge on a purse and keep it safe for the rest of my life. If that's possible. So I went to have a look see at Armani. I saw a gorgeous turnlock purse on their website. But turns out it's H.U.G.E. So that was out of the question. Next stop was DKNY. There was a black patent leather one with 4 tiny gold letterings that says DKNY. And that's like RM499!Stupid people might as well just say its RM500 la. Just a ringgit away. Ahem. I excused myself, in the calmest way possible out of the shop and somehow walked into Calvin Klein. Damn it. A navy blue patent leather purse WITHOUT any gold letterings is RM399. I need to think about this. I mean. It ain't exactly cheap.

BUT I finally found one that I liked. Very much. While going for a stroll around the Gardens at night with my mum. Back to square one. I'm using Guess again. Heh. And you won't get to see how it looks like here in the blog. Spot me using it :)

Saturday

Stand By Me.

Say you’ll stand by me .

Prayer.

My prayer has never changed.

Friday

Butterfly.

Lift me up so high

Watch me fly away

Give me life

Like a butterfly.

Harrods.

It was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.
A strawberry cheesecake and a fruit tart from Harrods :)

Van got me this because she has this secret crush on me for the longest time....Kidding.
Thanks again Margarine :)

Before I Go Back V.

Beef slices with la mian. Wonderful.
I know mushrooms and bok choy at RM18 is a tad bit expensive but I couldn't help myself. I was craving for mushrooms.
Fried rice with a combo of three types of rice. Be warned. The stone bowl IS HOT.
Dumplings.
Their famous "Siew Long Pau". I'll give it 6 stars out of 5. And a moon too.

For me, Dragon-i is like an epitome of the life in KL. The waiters and waitresses all speak cantonese, the service is fast and it's good food with a rather big price tag. It's just like that in KL. You come, you eat, than you go. So that's exactly where I went on the last night before I left for Kuching.

Before I Go Back IV.

The chicken was nice. Damn. Should have ordered what she was having instead.
Van's Mustard Chicken with fried potato cubes and lots and lots of peas.
My Hunter's pie at RM24.90. They are extremely generous with their lamb cause it's practically just chunks of braised lamb inside of the pie. I wish there were more peas. But the gravy in the pie was good though. Very filling. But it gets sickening after a while.
Micheal's good 'ol fish and chips. The fish was coated in beer batter. He says he can't taste the difference. I say I trust the dude. His a culinary arts student. So no arguments there.
Chloe's fishcakes.
Earl Grey. I love Earl Grey.
After much debate about white and brown sugar, I decided to give brown sugar a shot. The verdict- I like my tea with two cubes of brown sugar please :)

The Irish Mrs Pot.
Van's Honeydew juice. She wanted 100 Plus but it's RM7.90 for a 100 Plus at Malones. I know. Jawdropping expensive. But it's too late to leave anyways. And I really want to try Irish food.
The apartment is sort of like inside of Malones. So that's actually where we ate.

Was feeling bold one fateful morning while stepping into KLCC. Hmmmm....What to have today?Almost magically we walked into an ad for an Irish restaurant called Malones. So! Irish it is!Took us awhile to find the place. You'll have to walk out of KLCC to a place called The Park.

Before I Go Back III.

Yong Chow Fried Rice. The char siew was plenty!
Van's noodles. Again. Sorry for the amnesia with names. I think it's braised something something.

I got to try Crystal Jade together with Van while we were both in Pavilion. In the hierarchy of chinese food in KL, according to us, Crystal Jade's the Emperor, Dragon-i is next in line while Canton-i is pretty much like the eunuch. Well. I've never tried Canton-i but the way Van described it, it sounds like a rip off.

Before I Go Back II.

Their mashed potato beats any mashed potato. EVER.
Bored and sick of Mcd's or KFC? Try Popeye's. Yeah. That's right. Popeye's. Don't get the wrong impression just yet. They don't serve spinach. In fact, far from spinach, they serve great fried chicken with a touch of Louisiana, seeing that's where it's from. They have awesome chicken tenders too. Pardon me for not taking a picture of their fried chicken. My brother was too hungry and he took a hugeass chunk out of the chicken before I could even take a picture of it.
Believe me, a half-eaten drumstick isn't the prettiest thing you'll ever see.

Before I Go Back.

I, however, am not a fan of cucumbers.
Lets face it. Having Jap at Sushi King, Zanmai, Yo! or even Sakae can be rather pricey. So, your other alternative would be- Jusco! The secret is to go shortly before closing time. You can get sushi and even bentos at a cheaper price because of their ALL IS FRESH policy. They have to clear whatever they can off for they day. I've never tried it because I wouldn't even think twice about staying at a Jusco outlet till closing time. So I can't testify to the relevance of this secret. But I've heard from numerous sources. Mainly friends. But come on la. It's quiet believable right?
All in all. Sushi from Jusco is still cheaper than authentic Japanese cuisine outlets. I know the taste will never tally up. But if your tight on cash, you don't have much to complain about. When your hungry and you really don't care, it's all just rice balls and seaweed at the end of the day. Personally, I think their sushis are rather good :)
