Sunday

Tea Me.

So I'm on a holiday. That's one of the perks of teaching. You get to enjoy the school holidays even if your not in school anymore. And the best part is I've got no holiday homework! Hell yeah. I'm going to eatsleeplikealogtumblrreadeatsleeptumblrgooutsleepeattumblreadgooutagain
ya and take at least 26748 pictures a day. That basically sums up my plans. Oh yeah. And if possible probably cram in a good dose of exercise. I think I am in dire need of that. Anyways, I'm still as addicted to tumblr as ever and I've just finished Murakami's Norwegian Wood. I shall be reading Dickens today. I don't know why I've usually taken classics for granted but after Pride and Prejudice I realise classics are AMAZING. Took me long enough to realise that too. And oh glory to Penguin Popular Classics. They've got all sorts of books at such low prices. I got my copy of Great Expectaions and Pride and Prejudice for only RM9.35 each. I've found Nabokov's Lolita at Popular in Tun Jugah just the other day and I also got myself a copy of Jane Eyre. WTF is happening to me. Haha. Oh ya no one goes to town anymore huh? Oh yeah that's right everyone's over at Spring now. I forgot.

Now the perfect way to end this extremely mundane post would be to enclose a list of books I will be/want to read for this fateful year. No, I'm serious :)

1. Catcher in The Rye by J.D Salinger
2. The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald
3. Any book by John Steinbeck really.
4. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk ( I've watched the movie but not read the book. Was that a mistake?)
5. Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan ( I've been searching for this book forever )
6. How Starbucks Saved my Life by Michael Gates Gill
7. Have a Little Faith by Micth Albom
8. Looking for Alaska by John Green
9. Everything is Illuminated by John Safran Foer
10. Atonement by Ian McEwan

Yep, so far so good. Now I just have to go book hunting. I cross my heart and promise that my next post will be more interesting than this one ok?

I'll be off now :)

Thursday

Burgirl.

So it was chow time and I'd refused to have rice. We shall overlook the fact that I'm such a persnickety brat and focus on what's truly important here- The burger. I can only fathom that every foodie's dream will be to live right next to a huge food bazaar or even to have a burger stall set up right in front of their houses. Well. I've certainly been blessed with the latter :)
Lets just say that wise old saying " Never judge a book by its cover " has proven itself right once again. In this case, "Never ever judge a burger by its bun". It was simply awesome. It might look like the kind of food you'd consider twice before you eat but I assure you they use fresh cucumbers, lettuces and onions. I know cause I took nothing out from the bun :) I had the chicken burger which if I'm not mistaken was RM2.50. Hot buns with juicy piece of chicken patty, topped with fresh onions, cucumbers, lettuce and lots of mayo and chili sauce. Yums :)
It would have been better with cheese though. But I forgot.

Now the next thing on my list would be to get Starbucks to move next to where I live :)
Haha. Yeah right.

Tuesday

Breadfast.

My usual breakfast consists of a hot cup of milo and an omelette. Mixed please. NK is definitely one of those places you should go for breakfast. They have an amazing array of puffs and breads. And they make breakfast food look so appetizing. I'd suggest the American breakfast if your a hearty eater. Hey no shame in that right? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! :) Enjoy!

Bed Side.

This is how the side of my bed looks like. I know its messy but I like it that way. Oh and check out my cool new globe :) I love it! I've always wanted a globe or a huge world map. I'm tired of having to resort to those pull out maps behind Going Places magazines : ( And Bie got me the globe :) :) :) !!!! It illuminates too :) And hell yeah that junior size magnifying glass is for the globe I knew it would come in handy someday :) I can't wait for the coming holidays! Imma take lots and lots of pictures and just stay in bed the whole day with a Jane Austen and listening to Corinne Bailey Rae. I've just finishedPride and Prejudice. I'm so late but hey better late then never right?

Well, have a nice day folks :)

Monday

Wisdom on A Biscuit Stick.

Words of wisdom. DO NOT BE TIMID. How wise is that?
The new and improved Yan Yan from Meiji. My favourite happens to be the strawberry. How has it improved you say...Look inside and you'll find words now on the biscuit sticks. Haha. So it isn't that epic. But its still one of the best snacks around :)

57268 Things.

- I don't blog about EVERYTHING.

- I can forget to bring everything when I'm going out except for my camera.

- I only ever wear black or white NOT because I'm trying to fake emo or pretend that I'm cool. Simply because their my favourite colours. Like how some other people like pink or blue.

- I am the lamest person I know. ( I've finally come to terms with that but I'm in no way hating myself for it. That's just who I am. )
Example : ( I came up with this. )

Me: " How do you describe someone who studies about space?"

Victim :" OMG. Please just shut up Sarah!"

Me: ( Ignore pleas of mercy )

Me:" Spacial! Get it? Spacial = Special??"

Victim: * Throws me agitated look and threatens to sever all forms of acquaintance.*

I hope your still alive. The worst part is- I laugh at my own jokes. No joke.

- I buy alot of crap. What makes me say that? Because I have glow in the dark nail polish, sushi plasters, a pirate eye patch, a bicycle horn, a Spongebob candy case, windmills, a feather boa the list goes on and on. Point affirmed.

- I will only own stuff toys with beans. No beans means no love.

- My favourite font is Courier.

- Two gifts from mother nature that I absolutely embrace- the wind and the rain.

- I am always late. Always. In terms of time ya. Nothing hormonal.

- I am musically retarded. By that I mean I can't play any instrument even if it means saving my life. Just feed me to the crocodiles ok. The only chords I can strum on a guitar is E minor, G, D and NC. That means NO CHORD.

- My toe nails have never ever been unpainted since the year 2005.

- I can never stand pain. Aches, discomforts, cramps, burns, cuts. Anything that promises agony.
Physical or mentally. I rely entirely on Ameltz, Vicks, nasal sprays, axe oil, calamine, aloe vera gel and various creams and pills that exterminate any from of hurt. My sole remedy for disappoinments or heart aches is the bible. In other words, I turn to God :)

- Crossword puzzles are intriguing. I give no shit about Sudoku.

- I suck at maths. Ever since I sat for my first maths test way back in kindergarten, I flunked it by answering every single question with an X. From the very beginning Numbers and I knew we'd never get along.

- I took up chinese in SPM. Albeit the fact that I didn't do well. But anyways, yeah of course I can speak chinese.

- I have a navel piercing and 7 other piercings on my ears.

- I am completely hopeless when it comes to baking. I've tried again and again and I'm tired of burning whatever I'm trying to bake.

- I hyperventilate.

- I wish I was in Mensa.

- I curse. Alot. Good thing is its getting less and less. It isn't exactly appropriate to say the F word when your teaching the kids about the colours of a rainbow and a cockroach suddenly skitters past. ( That has actually happened twice )

- I am a terrible friend. But yet I am blessed with great friends. On a side note, I am sometimes also a terrible daughter, sister, granddaughter, girlfriend and cousin. Believe me, I am trying to change that while I still can.

- I get wildly excited whenever I see KinderJoy, Ring Pops, Push Pops, Pocky sticks, candy canes, candy floss most snacks really :)

- I am an abominable car driver. In other words, I suck. I am horrid at parking, at everything that involves a car other than sleeping in it. My brother is a better driver than me. Worst still, I have nil sense of direction. Taxi driver and a role in The Fast and Furious series is definitely off my list of possible future career options. As if. Haha.

- Jasmine Star! Google her!

- I absolutely love Van Gogh. Why o why is he dead.

- I think flowers make the worst gift. They wilt and die. Isn't that like some sort of an omen for the relationship too?

- I dream of a Leica ( the V- Lux 20 would suffice ), a Lubitel 166, a Rollei Rolleiflex, a vintage Minolta or Agfa or Pentax. Whichever. A Polaroid. A Holga, Diana F, a Canon 5D, a Marc Jacobs Q Hillier Hobo, a gucci Jolie or a Babouska Tote, a Miu Miu Coffer, an LV Neverfull or the Noe, a Chanel 2.55 and a pair of studs, Tory Burch signature flats, Kate Spade's Bon Mot X Ray Shopper, YSL Y Mail walleta vintage typewriter, a fedora, a fountian pen, perfect hair, Audrey Hepburn's Treasures, a tattoo, going to Arles, Capri, Agra, New York. Top it off with a Hasselblad. You bored yet? Haha. Before you judge and say that I'm just a greedy materialistic pig, I'd like to say that these are things that I would like to have but will still be extremely fine without. I am contented with my 450D and my Gin&Jacqie photobag which I got at RM60 after a discount from Isetan :)

- Carla Bruni, Zee Avi, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jack Johnson, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Kenny G, Amy Seeley, Bon Iver, Alicia Keys.

- I enjoy watching Nat Geo, Discovery and the History Channel. Its cool to be a nerd.

- I do not drink coffee. I prefer tea.

- Brown sugar over white. Curly fries than normal fries ( I hate crinkle cuts ), manis than pedis, keypads than touch screens, black ink than blue ink, cold than hot, penne or fussilli than spaghetti, peanut butter than jam, totes or hobos than handheld, snickers than mars.

- I dislike sambal, belacan, nasi lemak, and durians. Count me odd, tell me I don't know what I'm missing I shall stand firm.

- I will take/pull/pick/ out cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, lettuce or any form of garnish on whatever I'm eating. I don't like greens. At all. If I ever get a salad I'll only eat the croutons and cold cuts.

Wow. This has got to be one of the most conceited blogpost I've ever posted. Almost every sentence starts with "I". I have truly outdone myself. I can go on but I shall have mercy on you and stop. It's 8 in the morning and I'm off to bed. Nights :)

Tuesday

I Love You, Mummy.

Me and cousin :) I'm 3 years older than her but she's as tall as me. How can this be fair?? By the way I'm in heels. And she's not. WTF. *Gulps down whole carton of milk*
Noodles were the last dish. I don't know why but noodles are suppose to be the first dish at most places. Right?? Or are the rest of the places wrong? Confuse. Let me go and eat than think :)
My favourite among all the dishes. Scallops. Juicy tender succulent scallops. With freshly blanced broccolis and abalone mushroom. Can you repeat after me? A-M-B-R-O-S-I-A

Prawns. Was too busy eating to even take a glance at the menu to see what was the name of the dish. Don't hate.
Roasted chicken.
I am strongly against the consumption of shark's fin. But dammit it sure as hell tastes good.

Ah. Off with a good start. The yellow blob on the spoon I initially thought was vinegar but it turned out to be mashed potatoes topped with salmon roe. How chic right?

Can you see the word scallops? Enough said.

Shoot. I have no idea what this is called. But it sure was HUGE. Makes a great hat :) !!!

Mother's Day was simply delicious:) Forget the carnations and treat your mum to a wonderful meal instead ( I didn't exactly pay for the dinner though ). And so Banquet it is :)

Saturday

BeenTo.

I was craving for seaweed salad so the chicken teriyaki bento set at Tarot Cafe was my nearest resort. Only one picture here because no cameras allowed. Heh.

Friday

...

I know most of you guys come here for pictures of food but do bear with me. I may eat like a boy but I'm still as vain as a girl. So here is yours truly, extremely occupied with camwhoring in her bed chamber. Ok don't mind me now. Have a nice day :)

Wednesday

J.O.Y

This is my toy :) Time to get yours too.
Your surprise inside :)
JOY!JOY!
JOY!

I've found utmost joy in the greatest thing mankind has ever created. You can take away my car (because I don't have one:p), you can kick me out of my room ( I can sleep with my parents ), you can away my right to eat KFC for the rest of myself ( I can survive with Mcd ) as long as you give me THIS everyday. I can have this for breakfast, for lunch, and for dinner. I don't care even if I die of diabetes, I don't care. That's how much I love this. Can't you read? It already says JOY! Surprisingly, alot of people don't know what this is. The horror.

*Deb, if you happen to e reading this, this is whats inside.

Credits to Bie for the pictures :)

No Ketchup?

Heavenly mashed potatoes. I can just have this and I'd be bloated.
This is fish. That I know :)
I forget what the names of the dishes we had are. So I'm not even going to try ok. Just look at the pictures and go try Chili's when you get the chance.
Choice of salsa dip too. Spicy tangy goodness. Oh ya before I forget, you get "refills" for your tortilla chips too :D Sweet right?
Tortilla chips and hot melted cheese dip. Yum yum yum.
Free flow of any kind of fruit juice. Seriously free refill just like in Mcd. So drink up!

Believe it or not? I took a one night trip over to KL during the weekend and busted two months worth of my wages. Yup. You read right. ONE NIGHT. I am broke but I'm satisfied with the loot I lugged back home. I had Chilli's again which was the only meal I had in two days? Minus the heavenly turkish ice cream , an auntie anne's pretzel and a gardenia bun and a KFC snack plate. Hahaha. So nevermind not my only meal. I'm devastated I didn't get to have Dragon-i but I knew I wouldn't have enough time anyways. Chili's....Ah what can I say its always packed. You always have to be on some kind of list and wait for at least half an hour. But boy oh boy ginormous portions.

Monday

The Ozone Layer.

Spaghetti bolognese. This I like. The sauce was heavenly. However, the portions of the dishes are abit small though. But I give the ambience full stars. Its a great place to just chill and hang. I certainly don't have a problem with that :)

Mee Jawa.
Comes with century eggs, seasoned jellyfish and soup as sides.
Chicken rice set for only RM5. Extremely worth it.
Atmosfera's own laksa special.
Chocolate ice blended and an apple smoothie.
Atmosfera Cafe is this charming cafe right opposite the Spring. They don't just serve snacks or pastries. They serve FOOD. Appetite gratifying food. Excuse me for the lack of words because this blogger here lacks sleep. My brain isn't responding much now so my fingers are doing the typing and the thinking at the same time.
