Was out with Bebe on Sunday, was suppose to walk around and take pictures of random things around town. Sounds abit boh liao right? I think the weather agreed with us because it got cloudy and it started to rain abit so we sought shelter at erm Hilton. Hahaha you would have thought like maybe we ran and hid from the rain at a nearby temple or a kopi tiam or something. Hahahaha but no, we ended up at Caffe Cino. I love this place for the ambience and the pretty pastries and cakes. You would think that food at Hilton comes with a big price tag but I think its almost the same as Starbucks or Coffee Bean. For a pot of Earl Grey its the same price as Bing's- RM9. You'd have to pay service tax of course. But hey I think its worth it once a long while :)

Did you say Brownie?
Monday
Extremely Thai.
I love dining out with my parents because I get to splurge on food and their PAYING :x LOL. Joke. Anyways, I went out with my mum and my dad on Sunday night for dinner at the Bangkok Thai Seafood Restaurant. That's right, the one at Ang Cheng Ho under Lok Thian. Its been around for quiet awhile now. By that I mean years and years and years. And their business is still as good as it has always been. Hey, that's a good thing right?
Sunday
CCC.
What's on the Menu you say? I'll tell you this. Good food. And that's exactly what you'll find at the Menu. I don't know about the rest of their menu at the Menu ( it rhymes ) but the cheese chicken chop I had was awesome. Grilled chicken topped with melted cheese and a serving mashed potato all drenched in black pepper sauce. Yums.
Carpenter Street.
What's the first thing that comes into your mind when you think about Carpenter Street? Some say Kueh Chap some I assume would say Hakka mee and a very rare few would say they've never been. Congratulations to the first two groups! You've tasted ambrosia! And for the last group, I can only but feel sorry for you. Anyways, now take a step back into the past and its not hard to realise that your parents, your grandparents, they all ate there during the prefastfoodconquersall era. Before food became so loaded with msg. When food used to be REAL. It is at this very street where you'll find what I can only describe as really really good food. I know you'll find numerous food stalls as you amble( Seriously. Don't run ) down the whole street, but theres this place you just can't afford to miss. Its right opposite the "Shang Di" temple. My grandparents refer to the place as "Lau Ya Keng". I call it heaven though :) The place is overflowing and always busy with customers. Coming and going. Its so hard to find seats. Your either too late and the stalls are close or too slow, the seats are all taken. And that's just too bad. If any of you have friends from another continent or your trying to convince someone to stay permanently in Kuching your safest bet and sole strategy would have to be the food here. So do, please, I mean REALLY bring them over to Carpenter Street. No regrets :) And don't try and be nice. If you see any seats, just run for it ok?

Lok lok!
I've ogled the neon sign that says "lok lok" for countless nights. And I've finally got to try it with who else but bie :) Anyways, I can't talk or rant about the decor or the service. I mean its the most primitive form of eating there is compared to places like restaurants here. You take whatever your taste buds fancy and pass it to the dude, that's right the one whose standing next to the boiling pot of water. Once the foods' ready its over to your table no detours and straight to your tummy. Its fast really. And my oh my, a huge array of lok-loks to choose from. Vegetables on sticks to mussels on sticks. Tons. Choosing is fun :) And you know what? Sitting on a plastic stool that feels like its about to give in to your weight, tackling your fishball and his sausage ( Dear reader, at this point please kindly refrain from giggling. Yes I know its does sound obscene) in the sweet sauce, talking about everything while you watch cars zoom past, you think to yourself, those idiots in the car. They don't know what they're missing. I mean its lok lok. It's as simple as that. Steamboat on a stick. But yet its filling and exceptionally delicious when cooked just right and with just the right concoction which makes up the sauce. Uh-huh. Yummy. Period.
PS/ To all ye vegetarians, you get to try this out too cause they do have vegetables you can choose from. Like bok choy on a stick. How chic is that? :)

Friday
Explaination.
Honestly, on a side note, I think the whole concept of Ben 10 is just....Icky. God forbid, if I do adorn something on my wrist rest assure it will never turn me into ET's next door neighbour. Its either to tell time or merely for aesthetic purposes. I don't mind transforming into Liv Tyler or Nira Chan though.
Ok ok. I'm sidetracking. As I was saying, guess ya folks should be able to tell by now what my job is. If you can't I can only say to you how dumb can you get. Seriously. Ok I'm not here to blog about my job. I prefer to talk about more engaging matters such as food, shopping erm...and oh ya my newest baby. His a Canon EOS 450D.
I'm not here to brag about how great it is. Because truth is I hardly know how to use it. Using a DSLR isn't as easy as it looks. I'm going to take as long as I want to try it out and make the best of it because I've contemplated getting one for the longest of time. So do expect food shots to be taken by the DSLR. Unless if I state otherwise. Haha. Which just means I'm sick of trying to figure out to use it. Alot has been going on in my life but I can't blog about everything so I'll just talk food ok :)
